A computer or Laptop plays a huge part in our lives nowadays, almost every home is having it now. If you consider me, I use my laptop daily for a minimum of 8 hours and I can’t live without my laptop as I’m completely depended upon my laptop only to do my works and play games and watch movies or Tv series, so just like me, many people are.
But what if such an important thing gets slow? can we compromise the speed? becoz people like me need to work daily on a computer or laptop to earn money and feed their family, so we can’t compromise on the speed!
Also, we can’t even buy a new laptop every time whenever it gets slow, as in general for every 6 months, most laptops get slow gradually! Also, I’ve found that many people are searching on google about “how to make laptop faster windows 10″ or how do I make my computer run faster?”
So I decided to share some tweaks to regain the speed of your computer or laptop! I’m sharing some important steps below, so you just need to follow as what I say. These tips always worked for me, so I want you to trust me blindly and follow the tutorial! And this is the same procedure for Windows 7 or Windows 8 or Windows 10!
This is where a lot of garbage lives in, why I’m calling it “Garbage”, become the software or programs which we won’t use regularly comes under this category only!
This has a huge impact on your computer overall performance!
So to remove all these Unwanted programs, open the Control Panel’s Programs and Features page, or else you can directly go here by copy/paste this link = Control Panel\Programs\Programs and Features
So have a look through the list of installed softwares in your computer. Uninstall those that you do not need, but be careful while doing this, don’t uninstall the programs your computer’s hardware needs (typically their publisher will be listed as the PC maker’s name or as Microsoft).
2: Delete temporary files:
While we use different programs on our computer daily, Temporary files [junk] forms daily aside which also affects the performance of the computer. Getting rid of these Junk files, including our internet browser history & cookies, should result in us a big amount of hard disk space, speeding up our computer.
To do this, open “My Computer”, and select your local drive (usually C:). Select the “Windows” folder and then open the folder titled “Temp”.
In order to do this,
- open “My Computer”
- open your local drive “C”
- open the “Windows” folder
- Now open the folder called “Temp”
or you can directly go here by doing copy/paste this path – C:\Windows\Temp
So once you get into the “Temp” folder, select all the files there and hit “Shift+Delete” buttons to permanently delete them!
And finding and removing the temporary files in the “temp” folder doesn’t always guarantee removal of all the temporary and junk files!
You need a software for that and luckily. there are many softwares for that purpose. So out of them all, CCleaner is the best! All it costs is a very few bucks, there’s even a trial version for this software, so you can test it completely for some days and then decide to buy it or not! Also, there’s a completely free version which has limited features only!

And don’t think that, if you install this CCleaner software, it’ll automatically remove the junk files all, you have to regularly run it like once a week etc
3.Checking out “Task Manager”:
Sometimes when we are doing work on our pc, we feel that “this day, my PC is somewhat slow compared to yesterday”, so in such cases, a quick tip for you,
Open the Task Manager” in your computer by clicking on the “Ctrl + Alt + Delete” (for Windows), now you can identify the apps, background processes which are consuming the highest memory, high amount of CPU, Disk, and Network. So Once you figure out which process is the culprit causing the slowness to your system, then you can end that particular process and continue the rest of your work easily. So in order to end an app or background process. ‘right click’ on that item and you’ll see an option “End Task”.
So you can end that particular process and continue the rest of your work easily.

4. Reducing the ‘Start-up’ time for your pc:
If your computer or laptop taking much time to start when you switch on the power button, then you can optimise the apps by setting which one to start at first and which one should not.
Again open “Task Manager” like how I said above,
now in the “Task Manager” section, there’s an option called “Start-up”, so click here and now you will see details about which software is ‘enabled’ or ‘disabled’ to start up when your power on your computer!! You can also the “Start up Impact” too
So the less the softwares are enabled during startup time, the faster your pc will open!
5. Run a Disk Fragment:
Sometimes we see that our hard drives like “Local disk D” or “Local disk E”
etc gets slow as days pass on. Luckily, we can manually optimise the drives for better performance by using the ” Disk Fragment” option
